An amazing experience!

Casa Vicens, which I initially didn't know much about, was a wonderful and positive surprise. We booked Casa Vicens tickets with a guided tour, which added a deeper value to the experience. The house is beautifully decorated, and the projections and exhibit area give you a better understanding of Gaudi as an artist. I suggest you see this house before any other to understand how his design evolved. Having a tour guide was a great help and the perfect introduction to our Barcelona trip!

Hidden gem, so colorful and interesting!

Visiting earlier in the morning was a great decision, as it became a bit crowded later! Our guide was amazing and shared some interesting information about the design and decoration. I loved the Mediterranean garden, which was so colorful and peaceful! It's great that you can stay inside as much as you want after the tour. Also, the rooftop is so colorful and interesting I could sit there for hours!

DESCRIPTION

Casa Vicens Tickets

Explore Casa Vicens, located in the charming neighborhood of Gràcia. Inside, you'll discover different influences and ideas that Antoni Gaudi, a famous Spanish architect, combined in his future designs.

GAUDI’S FIRST MASTERPIECE

Did you know that Gaudí was only 31 years old when he received his first residential commission? The house was commissioned by Manel Vicens I Montaner, a stockbroker looking for a unique summerhouse design. The project started in 1883 and took two years to complete. Unfortunately, the house faced significant renovations that slightly changed Gaudi's original concept. However, thanks to preserved records, photos, and models, you can still get an overview of his initial idea. Inside, you can walk through the smoking room, dining room, and rooftops and explore permanent and temporary collections. Take your time to relax in the garden surrounded by Mediterranean plants.

FROM PRIVATE APARTMENT TO TOURIST ATTRACTION

For more than 130 years, the property was a private apartment, and its doors were closed to the public. In 2005, Casa Vicens received well-deserved recognition from UNESCO, and in 2017, it finally became available to locals and tourists. It stands out with natural materials, bright colors, and Moroccan and Oriental influences. Casa Vicens is one of the earliest examples of the Modernism wave in European art and architecture.
